The original play couch is infinitely configurable: designed with four foam pieces (base, cushion, and two triangle pillows) and covered in a washable fabric cover in the color of your choice.
Assembled in North Carolina with domestic and imported materials. Absolutely no flame retardants. Both GREENGUARD Gold and CertiPUR-US® certified to exceed standards.
Care
Our fabric is really durable, and machine washing works great — just unzip the covers from the foam and zip them back up before throwing in the machine. To preserve color, wash on the coldest setting on your machine with only Nugget pieces of the same color, and hang dry to prevent shrinking. For full care instructions, please see our Care FAQs.
Certifications & Safety
The Nugget is GREENGUARD Gold certified, which means it was rigorously screened and scientifically tested for more than 15,000 VOCs. The Nugget passed the strictest requirements with flying colors, so it doesn't emit any harmful chemicals. You can rest easy and play all day, knowing our products are safe for children, families, and the environment.
Our foam is CertiPUR-US® certified to exceed safety standards — free from mercury, lead, formaldehyde, and ozone depleters. No harmful flame retardant chemicals are applied to the foam or the fabric, and the Nugget still passes California's TB-117 fire safety regulation.

Two Supportive Pillows
They say there's two sides to every story, but if the story is about our pillows, it has three. Use them for the columns of a coliseum, the hull of a ship, or just a backrest when you need a break in between.
One Soft Cushion
The cushion may be the Nugget's thinnest piece, but without it, wall-climbers and cannonballers would be in for a rough landing. It's squishy and strong, so playroom superheroes can bounce back after big falls — just like the ones on TV.
One Sturdy Base
No one likes to be on the bottom of the pile. Well, except for the base, that is. Down there it gets to provide stable, reassuring structure to the pieces above.
A place to park your zipper
Custom zipper garages on each piece of the Nugget make the product gentle on walls and on little hands! As an added bonus, we suggest keeping the zipper parked to prevent curious Nuggeteers from accessing the foam. 😉

Our zippers were custom-designed with aesthetics and comfort in mind — they’re sleek and rounded, with added texture for easy zipping and gripping.
Functional and stylish
Soft, woven handles on the base and cushion make building with and moving the Nugget from room to room a breeze! The handles have been tested for long-term durability, and are designed to lay flat when not in use.

Are there any rules for playing with the Nugget?
We know, we know... rules aren't always the most fun, but safety is at the top of our priority list. It's why all of our products go through extensive testing, long before they land on your doorstep. Nuggets make excellent forts, theatrical backdrops, cozy reading nooks, and so many more things that your kiddos will think of before we do... but, like many products for the little ones we love most, they should not be used without adult supervision. Is shipping really free?

How long can I keep it compressed in the box?
The Nugget travels to you tightly compressed and wrapped up like a foam burrito — the longer it’s in the box, the longer it'll take to pop back to form and un-wrinkle, so we strongly recommend you open the Nugget as soon as it lands on your front doorstep! Nuggets left in their box longer than 15 days from delivery will not be covered by our product warranty.
Where can I buy a Nugget?
We value being able to pack and ship each Nugget here at Nugget HQ in Butner, North Carolina. Because we make and ship all Nuggets, the only place to buy an original Nugget is right here on our site.

No, we don’t do big discounts or sales at Nugget. Keeping our price point consistent year-round allows us to pay our production staff a living wage, maintain our commitment to high-quality materials, and treat all customers fairly, no matter what time of year they purchased.
Why are some colors a different price?
The cost of a Nugget varies depending on its fabric covering. Nuggets in our original, classic microsuede fabric are $249. Nuggets covered with our cozy, double-brushed microsuede are $269. Our luxe and textured corduroy Nuggets are $279.
