Talk Starters: Not your average book club

Welcome to the Talk Starters book club: a new chapter for our Black Futures work here at Nugget!

We all know kids ask some tough questions, and it can be tough to know how to respond — especially when those questions are about skin color, racism, or diversity.

In partnership with A Kids Co., this free online book club will show you how to use books and storytime to spark meaningful conversations about race.

Upcoming events

The nuance and importance of Juneteenth can be really hard to explain to kids (and grownups too!). Our June book club pick is A Kids Book About Juneteenth. Author Garrison Hayes will join us to answer your questions and help us all better understand this important part of U.S. history.

Celebrating Black Futures year-round

We’re working toward the goal of racial equity and inclusion in our business and in our society — toward a future where all children (and grownups) can experience the comfort and freedom to grow their imaginations.

For years, Nugget’s annual Black Futures efforts have worked to amplify Black voices, hold space for Black joy, and support organizations prioritizing play, prosperity, and potential for Black people.
