What’s even Smore Smore than Smore?

The world’s largest play chair, of course! (Guinness Book of World Records, feel free to call us.) Meet Mega Smore!

Earlier this year, we unveiled our latest Nugget® product: a modern, playwithable™ chair built for independent, imaginative play. Smore™ was born, and Nuggeteers got a (some might say… mega?) seat upgrade.

Longtime Nuggeteers will know that any time we release a new product, we go out of our way to give it its own Mega version. First came the Mega Nug. Then Mega Chunk rolled (slowly, carefully) onto the scene.

And today, we’re debuting Mega Smore to the Nuggetverse!

Like its predecessors, the Mega Smore is identical to its human-sized version, but it’s approximately 43 times bigger than the original Smore™ play chair. It weighs just north of 600 pounds!

Every time we make a Mega, we get some colossal questions. Here are our gargantuan answers.

Q: How, exactly, does one make a Mega Smore?

A: On the eve of a big product launch, we hear a racket coming from behind the Nug Fairy’s door. When we wake up, poof! A Mega version is waiting for us in the middle of HQ.

Just kidding. The Mega Smore took a lot of work, starting with a huge fabric order (in the same fabric you get on our products at home!). It’s cut and sewn into the shape of a huge Cover Set. Then, we cut raw foam and custom embroidered a giant “GG” on the Cover Set. Lastly, we recruited a bunch of Nuggeteers to help us stuff the Cover Set with foam.

Q: Why did you make Mega Smore?

A: Because we can!

In all seriousness, one of our core company values is “Just For Fun.” We want to embody the same sense of silliness, adventure, and creativity as young Nuggeteers do every day! It’s important for us to find time to do things just for the fun of it.

Q: Does it work like a regular Smore?

A: Well, we wouldn’t recommend anyone try to move the pieces on their own… but it still comes apart for imaginative play!

Q: How hard is it to climb into the seat of the chair?

A: We recommend all employees have a friend help them up the first time. Or, you know, using a (standard-sized) Nugget or two as a step stool. Once you’re up there, though, it’s a great spot for collaborative meetings, idea sessions, or getting some work done.

Q: Can you flip the frame on its side and use it as a giant ball pit?

A: Not a bad idea… We might want to find some softer-sided ball options though. It’s a big jump down!

We're always working on big, fun ways to reimagine playtime at HQ — for you and for ourselves. Time to get on the ball and start planning our next big idea!
