What is a Nugget?
The Nugget is The Original Play Couch™! It's infinitely configurable and made up of four foam pieces (base, cushion, and two triangle pillows) that come covered in a washable fabric cover in the color of your choice.
What are the dimensions and weight of the Nugget?
The Nugget is 33" deep and 66" long in its standard configuration — the seat is 8.75" above the ground, and it's 22.25" high to the top of the pillows in the standard configuration. The Nugget box measures 15" x 15" x 34".
The whole Nugget weighs 27 lbs — that's the sum total of the base (12 lbs), the seat cushion (9 lbs), and the two triangle pillows (3 lbs each).
Are Nugget products GREENGUARD Gold Certified?
Yes! All of our products are GREENGUARD Gold certified, which means they’ve been rigorously screened and scientifically tested for more than 15,000 VOCs. We pass the strictest requirements with flying colors, so our products don’t emit any harmful chemicals. You can rest easy and play all day, knowing Nugget products are safe for children, families, and the environment.
What's the Nugget made out of?
It's a harmony of open-cell polyurethane foams, cloaked in soft and durable fabric to achieve that elusive "just right" feel.
Where is it made?
Every Nugget is manufactured one at a time in Butner, North Carolina at Nugget HQ. We use fabric sourced from Vietnam, China and El Salvador, and foam produced in North Carolina.
Is the foam safe?
Our foam is CertiPUR-US® certified to exceed safety standards. It’s free of mercury, lead, and formaldehyde, and VOCs are minimal to protect indoor air quality.
Does it have flame retardants?
Nope! No harmful flame retardant chemicals are applied to the foam or the fabric. And the Nugget still passes California's TB-117 fire safety regulation.
How can it be stored?
The Nugget is almost as versatile in storage as it is in use. Fold up the base and cushion (handles up) for stowing away in a closet, or flatten them out to slide under most beds (8.75" tall).
Is there a weight limit?
Nope! The Nugget is made of strong, supportive foam — without bendable and breakable bolts and bars. It's one size sits all.
I just opened my Nugget and have an issue, what should I do?
Oh no! Our team takes quality very seriously and we're happy to help.
Every Nugget comes with a limited two-year warranty that covers manufacturing defects like seam tears, zipper issues, etc. If you open your Nugget and find anything amiss, please fill out our Contact Form and our team will get back to you ASAP.
Please note that the following concerns must be reported within 48 hours of receipt of the product:
- Damaged or soiled product from transit
- Missing items
- Color mix up
- Major damage like stains, rips, or punctures
Are there any rules for playing with the Nugget?
We know, we know... rules aren't always the most fun, but safety is at the top of our priority list. It's why all of our products go through extensive testing, long before they land on your doorstep. Nuggets make excellent forts, theatrical backdrops, cozy reading nooks, and so many more things that your kiddos will think of before we do... but, like many products for the little ones we love most, they should not be used without adult supervision.
Nuggets are meant for open spaces and should be used with caution on hard surfaces. If your Nuggeteer is extra adventurous, we highly recommend sticking with setups that are close to the ground, as the Nugget is made out of foam and is, by nature, a pliant and lightweight substance — the product should not be used as a launchpad or a jungle gym.
We created the Nugget to give Nuggeteers endless options for open-ended, imaginative play, but we are not responsible or liable for the use of our products outside of our factory.
