Our origin story

At first, we just wanted to build a better futon. Our endlessly configurable couch ended up turning into something unexpected: a beloved platform for open-ended play. After more than a decade in business, we’ve now sold 1,000,000+ Nuggets!

We design Nugget® play furniture with purpose, building products that grow with your child. Our team puts thoughtfulness, creativity, and community at the center of all we do — making our business one we’re proud to stand behind (and sit on).

Frequently asked questions

How long can I leave products in the box after they arrive?

The Nugget® can be stored in its box for up to eight weeks after delivery, but the sooner you can unbox, the better. The Nugget travels to you tightly compressed and wrapped up like a foam burrito — but the longer it’s in there, the longer it will take to pop back to form and un-wrinkle, so we recommend opening your box shortly after it lands on your front doorstep!

Chunk ships uncompressed and can be left in the box as long as you’d like, but must be stored in a climate-controlled environment. 

Please note that any compressed Nugget left in the box longer than eight weeks from delivery will not be covered by our product warranty, and all unopened returns must be initiated within 30 days of delivery.

Is there a product guarantee?

Our products were made for imagination, relaxation, and everything in between, which means that their zippers, seams, and handles should stand up to everyday use. Each Nugget® product comes with a limited warranty that covers certain manufacturing defects that functionally impair the look or use of your product. You can read our full warranty here.

If you come across a defect in your Nugget product, please send 2-3 pictures of the issue through this form so we can help! It’s our way of saying we don’t just sit on Nugget products — we stand behind them.

Is shipping really free?

For Nugget products shipping to the contiguous United States, yes!

For non-contiguous U.S. states (Alaska and Hawaii) we have an additional shipping cost of $69 per Nugget or Chunk. Cover Set and Liner Set shipping is free. 

For orders headed to Canada, shipping is $69 per Nugget or Chunk, and $39 per Cover Set or Liner Set. 

Accessory items shipped by partner companies may include additional shipping costs.

Are Nugget® products GREENGUARD Gold Certified?

Yes! All of our products are GREENGUARD Gold certified, which means they’ve been rigorously screened and scientifically tested for more than 15,000 VOCs. We pass the strictest requirements with flying colors, so our products don’t emit any harmful chemicals. You can rest easy and play all day, knowing Nugget products are safe for children, families, and the environment.

What is the recommended age range for Nugget® products?

The Nugget® is for kids (and kids at heart) that are 1+ years old. Chunk® is for kids 3+ years old.

Can I buy covers separately?

Yes! Nugget® products arrive fully dressed (in a Cover Set in the color of your choice), but we know our customers sometimes like to switch out their colors with different Cover Sets. Having an extra set on hand is super helpful for laundry day, too. You can buy extra covers for the Nugget here or covers for Chunk® here!
